Growing up in Nicaragua during the tumultuous 1980s, he bore witness to the armed conflicts of the Cold War and the historic Iran-Contra affair, which tragically claimed the lives of two of his high school classmates. Despite these harrowing experiences, Sidney remained steadfast in his commitment to fostering positive change and peace.

World Peace Initiative
Sidney Pratt, an American-Nicaraguan, was profoundly impacted by the violence of Nicaragua’s tumultuous 1980s, witnessing firsthand the devastating consequences of armed conflict during the Cold War and the Iran-Contra affair, which tragically claimed the lives of two of his high school classmates.
In the 1990s, following the election of Violeta Chamorro as Nicaragua’s first female president and the dawn of a new era of peace in the country, Sidney assumed the crucial role of liaison. He successfully facilitated a donation from the Queen’s security in England, aimed at bolstering President Chamorro’s protection, marking the initial steps towards a more peaceful Nicaragua amidst persistent political challenges.
Sidney’s commitment to peace continued as he took on the position of Executive Director of T.V. Channel 6 and played a pivotal role in Nicaragua’s 2002 electoral campaign. Despite facing adversity and becoming the first Political Prisoner of the Press, Sidney’s unwavering dedication to his beliefs remained steadfast.
Following this challenging period, Sidney redirected his focus towards creating positive spiritual change within society. He founded the Mountain of Peace Catholic Sanctuary in the rainforests of Matagalpa, Nicaragua, with the goal of fostering peace and harmony among diverse communities. As the founder, Sidney has been a driving force behind this vital mission.
Additionally, Sidney established an alcohol and drug addiction center, offering vital resources and support to individuals grappling with addiction. Through this center, he has positively impacted numerous lives, empowering individuals to overcome their challenges and rebuild their futures. Sidney’s commitment to aiding those in need underscores his pivotal role in promoting peace and harmony.
A central tenet of Sidney’s mission is the promotion of forgiveness, both for oneself and for others. He firmly believes that by embracing forgiveness, individuals can achieve emotional intelligence, effectively manage their emotions, and find inner peace. Sidney has dedicated his life’s work to spreading this message and inspiring others to cultivate peace, catalyzing positive change in the world.
